It's An Essie Day...

I am a perfectionist. I'll admit it. I absolutely cannot stand when I can't do something just right, I actually get really stressed out . Last night the homemade pizza was a total flop and this morning I woke up in a less than pleasant mood. I didn't want to try the pizza again and I definitely didn't want to cook the poppy seed glazed ham and cheese sandwiches along with the baked potato soup that I had planned. Do you ever have these days? When one very small thing effects your mood towards everything...

Well to say the least I'm trying to get my mood back up. Essie polish therapy perhaps?

Today's Pick: Essie Merino Cool

Long Day...

Today has been the longest day ever. I ATTEMPTED to make homemade pizza and as usual it was a huge flop. I made the dough TWICE and each time it refused to rise. I think it may be the yeast...if it's gluten free yeast will it affect the dough at all? I'm going to try again tomorrow and if still isn't working I'll make poppy seed glazed ham and cheese sandwiches. Oh well, not sure what to do with the massive amount of pepperoni and Havarti cheese if the pizza doesn't work out. Cross your fingers!

On a positive note, today was my free day so I had a lot of time to get ready!

I wore the above outfit with my hair all curled and pretty! Finally! I love having time to breathe and do things for me now and then!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Momma!

I'm finally home from school and what am I doing?? Putting the apron on and dirtying up the kitchen. I promised my mother that for her birthday I'd cook the meals all weekend!

STAY TUNED FOR PICTURES!
This could be good or bad...

What I wish was in my closet...Day Five

Today will probably be the last day I do this series for the week. If you liked this past week, tell me and I may consider incorporating it more as one of the weekly posts. As for today's post, I wanted to end with an outfit centered around one of my favorite colors, take a look:

When I first saw the skirt online I knew that I had to make an outfit around it. The colors are so fresh and clean and the polo makes it so perfectly preppy. Combine the look with the beach loving rope sandals, and accentuate your waist and break up the skirt and shirt with the belt. Lovely!

So what did you think of this week's posts? Should they be in part of a weekly rotation along with other similar topics? I'm still putting together where I want this blog to be so any tidbits of advice would be appreciated!

What I wish was in my closet...Day Four

For today's post of the series I really wanted to show a vintage inspired piece that I saw at Anthropologie. In my college town I see girls every single day (especially during the weekend) wearing barely anything. By showing too much cleavage, wearing tight booty shorts, or short skirts you are truly showing others how you view yourself! Gather your confidence and toss those skimpy clothes in the trash! Sexy is not about showing skin, but exhibiting confidence in your appearance. For this modest outfit, bring out that confidence and rock it!  I really hope you enjoy reading more about it below, enjoy!

For this outfit, I found the most darling dress in an extremely flattering color for most skin tones (especially fair skin tones like myself). The modest neckline makes the dress look oh-so-classy, begging for polished earrings and a pair of simple sandals. Let the dress speak for itself!

What I wish was in my closet...Day Three

It's day three and if you don't know this already then listen up! I LOVE nautical inspired pieces, absolutely love them! The color navy is one of my favorites and it just reminds me of the summer and all the wonderful vacations I've been on with my family. Today's outfit features a nautical inspired look with an unexpected twist; you'll see what I mean below!

Again I love the shirt in this outfit. The way it ties into a knot in the front creates a slimming effect as it accentuates and draws attention to your waist. Next up are the shoes from Vineyard Vines. If people don't understand that you're going for the nautical look then I don't know what else to say! At first glance these flip flops are like any other pair but with the anchor charms they become so darling! Finishing off the look? The bag of course! I spotted this tote on J. Crew and just couldn't resist! The yellow square provides such a strong contrast against the navy, a combination that you don't normally see. Don't forget to wear your pearls!

What I wish was in my closet...Day Two

It's day two of my "What I wish was in my closet" series and with each polyvore set I'm becoming more and more enthralled with the idea of Spring. Honestly it's gotten to the point where each day I look not just at this week's forecast but next week's as well; praying that warm weather will be coming soon! Today I'm featuring another outfit which I unfortunately do not own (*tear). I hope you enjoy today's post and visit tomorrow for Day Three!

So first off, I absolutely love this shirt! I'm in need of a "go-to" white shirt and I may need to start saving up for this one! Well moving on to the other pieces, the flowy shirt would go wonderfully with a great pair of skinny jeans and these lovely heels! The thing I love about Anthropologie's shoes is that they are so unique and different! Pair them with the earrings and you're set!

What piece do you like the best?
