New bag

Friday, I went on (another) road trip to a different college town. Let me tell you, the town was so adorable! I felt like I was cheating on my own college by how much I loved this other college's town. Too cute.

Well, while I was there I of course had to go shopping! They had so many adorable shops, one of them was a small boutique that had a variety of beautiful things. There were adorable sun dresses, tunics, frye boots, among other things.

I ended up falling in love with this nautical bag, although I love my Vineyard Vines tote bag, this one was just cute! Well I looked at the price tag... $38... not expensive, but not the cheapest either. So I decided I'd continue to shop and if I didn't like anything else, I'd come back for the bag.

Later that day, after a day of shopping, I still didn't find something that I loved as much as that tote bag. I decided to go back and buy the bag before I left to head back to my college.  Well I did and here it is:

The bag is soooo cute in person! It's a navy blue and white striped canvas tote, with rope handles.  It has an enormous amount of room  and the quality of the fabric is fantastic! Even more, the tote's nautical theme is wonderful for the upcoming spring season!

Now the bad part, and my tip for you! Always be aware that there may be a greater deal on a purchase somewhere else. I was looking online for the bag (you can find it here) and ended up finding it half off! Oh well, at least I can find comfort in the new Sperry shoes I purchased Friday as well (with a gift card). I'm looking forward to wearing them, they look perfect with the new tote bag!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Cleaning Tip

I received my first Vineyard Vines tote bag this Christmas and since then I've done all I could to avoid getting it dirty. Honestly, it is incredibly ridiculous how I treat this thing! I'm talking about inspecting every surface before placing it down and putting all of my pens and pencils into an old Vera Bradley bag so that they don't mark up the inside of the tote when I use it for school. Basically, my tote bag is my baby.

Here's a picture of my baby in the crab print

With that, I'd like to share a cleaning tip that I just discovered after finding a few dark marks on my baby. The next time you find any random dirt marks on your tote try using hand wipes! I used the Equate antibacterial wipes which you can find at Walmart for super cheap! They worked really well and after the watery residue went away, the marks were gone!

So for any of you with Vineyard Vines totes or any other type of tote bag, before you put it in the back of your closet, try cleaning it up with the help of some wipes!
