Were any of you lovely readers in Girl Scouts when you were little? I did it from 3rd grade till the beginning of 8th grade (I think); I was a Brownie and then a Junior! Although it wasn't always my favorite activity I did enjoy one specific activity: SWAPS! I remember going camping each year along with numerous troops and swapping our homemade swaps that we had made prior.
What are swaps? Swaps are small little objects that you or your troop would make together. You would make ALOT and then trade them for other Girl Scouts' swaps.
Tonight, I found my old Swap Hat that all the girls in my troop had. This is probably the ugliest hat in the world but it made me laugh so hard when I saw it. It's covered with the precious homemade swaps. Here are a few of my favorites:
I saw this one and laughed and then when I turned it over I saw my initials and my troop number on the back. Needless to say I laughed even harder when I realized that I had made this. I can barely remember painting 30+ of these wooden "surfboards."
This cute little basket of apples was made by one of the girls in my troop! She took red beads and strung them together and attached them to the basket using a needle and thread.
The person that swapped this cheated ;) Although it's not homemade it's extremely adorable! It reminds me of how much I loved collecting dolls when I was little. Did anyone else have American Girl Dolls growing up?
A s'more made out of square felt pieces! So cute! I'm always shocked when someone tells me they've never had a s'more before.
Best. Thing. On. The. Planet.
A rolled up sleeping bag! I went camping a lot when I was in Girl Scouts along with my family!
Note: Camping during a thunderstorm with a bunch of girls afraid of the dark is pretty hilarious but don't expect to get any sleep.
A cute palm tree made out of foam cut-outs!
This post certainly brought back a bunch of great memories from when I was little. Girl Scouts for me was an activity that I had a love and hate relationship with. However I am so grateful for the hilarious and sweet memories that I now have from that time.
Did any of you do Girl Scouts in the past?

I was a Scout as a kid and then experienced it with my daughter. I even did camp as an adult, I will NEVER do that again. I do mean NEVER, I am way too high maintenance for that 'roughin' it business!
