When shopping for a dress, I usually keep two things in mind: style and function.
- Do I feel comfortable in this style?
- Would I wear it more than once?
- Where would I wear the dress to?
- Can I dress it up or down?
Below are a list of dresses that I find to be wonderful staple pieces in my own closet! I hope you add your favorites to the list as well!
1. I love to have a dress with a full skirt in my closet, such as the yellow one above. Make sure you find one that emphasizes your waist!
2. The white lace dress pictured above is from Free People a few years ago. It is such a sweet dress to wear when it starts getting warm. Having at least one white dress in your closet is great because you can match it with basically any accessory!
3. Keep a printed dress in your closet!!! This dress was my first Lilly, I love the sash tie look!
4. Love the shiny, light blue dress above? This look works great for a night out at a nice restaurant or different occasion where you need to dress up a bit more than usual.
5. Tunic Dresses! Just like the shirt version, they are so comfy and in my opinion much cuter than the polo dresses from Ralph Lauren.
6. Sheath Dresses are classy and modest. Definitely have at least one in your closet.
Notice that there wasn't a Little Black Dress in the list? During the springtime, the darkest I'll go is navy. No black during the spring!
What are your go-to dresses?
